Troubled times are great times to take an inner look and understand where true value lies. The Brazilian economy was heavily impacted by the decline in oil prices and political downturns have managed to add to this predicament – particularly with regards to the oil and gas industry.

For Trelleborg one of our greatest values has always been our relationship with our customers and overall stakeholders, for Brazil it could not be any different. We have managed to deepen our relationship with our customers by increasing conversations while jointly looking for solutions. Additionally, we worked with our customers to look for different strategies with regards to:

Market – searching for other industries that might use similar products

Cost – improving costs by nationalizing our supply chain

Customer retention – through the use of smart technologies

Product – using our expertise and track record abroad as a potential solution for local clients

It has been a challenging time, but this time has created the opportunity for us to better shape ourselves for the recovery.
