Trelleborg acquires French hose manufacturer
- becomes European leader in the composite hoses segment
Through the Trelleborg Engineered Systems business area, the Trelleborg
Group has acquired the Dynaflex Division, with a small unit for the
manufacture of composite hoses in Sancheville, France, from the
industrial rubber group Manuli. Manuli Dynaflex produces hoses in
composite materials. Typical applications are tanker-truck hoses,
aviation-fuel hoses and hoses for aggressive chemicals.
Manuli Dynaflex will be fully integrated with Unifluid (which was
acquired during the autumn of 2003) as a single combined unit within
Trelleborg Engineered Systems. The new unit will be the European leader
in the composite hoses segment. Synergies are expected in both
production and sales.
The acquisition is part of the business area's strategy of expansion
within selected industrial-hose segments, which are characterized by a
high level of competitiveness and favorable future profitability.
Following the acquisition, the business area has annual sales in the
chemicals and petrochemicals segment of nearly SEK 150 M.
