Trelleborg acquires part of Danish roofing contractor

Trelleborg, through its Trelleborg Engineered Systems business area, has acquired 40 percent of the operations of Hetag Takdaekning A/S, including its subsidiaries, with about 125 employees and annual sales of approximately SEK 300 M. Hetag Takdaekning A/S, which conducts roofing contract work, is privately owned and based in Hedensted, Denmark. The acquisition has an insignificant impact on the Trelleborg Group’s earnings and financial position.

In 2006, Trelleborg acquired Hetag Tagmaterialer A/S, a distributor of roofing products in the Danish market. The acquisition contained an agreement in principle to also acquire part of Hetag’s contracting business, which has now taken place. The roofing contractor companies will be operated as joint ventures between Trelleborg and the local management.

“This move strengthens our position in the Danish roofing market,” says Lennart Johansson, business area President of Trelleborg Engineered Systems. “We acquire a contractor that is well established throughout Denmark and one that is an excellent complement to our existing roofing operation. We have positive experience of cooperation in joint-venture form for this type of contracting.”
