“We are very pleased to announce the acquisition of Signum. Combined, we are creating a very attractive offering of integrated packages and safety critical systems for both LNG ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore transfer in demanding industries. Signum has a reputation for quality and innovation, very much like Trelleborg. This acquisition will also further strengthen our geographic coverage notably in the aftermarket and service business, hence a really good fit for us in many aspects,” says Jean-Paul Mindermann, President of the Trelleborg Industrial Solutions business area.

Trelleborg will showcase its portfolio of industry leading LNG transfer technology at this year’s Gastech in Texas (17 – 19 September).

Additionally, as part of Gastech’s main conference program, Technical Director at Trelleborg’s marine and infrastructure operation, Andrew Stafford, will discuss the various technology solutions currently available for radio ESD and communications links (16:30 – 17:00, 17 September, T1.2 Wireless Linked ESD Considerations). The presentation will give careful consideration to the functionality offered by each solution, as well as the benefits and issues in providing the safe, reliable and timely activation of a linked ESD system. James Hermary, Product Manager – LNG Applications, of  Trelleborg Fluid Handling Solutions, will also present the results of a successful field operation of an integrated monitoring system for cryogenic hoses, along with its multiple applications in maintaining and improving safety standards in ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore LNG transfers (10:15-10:45, 18 September, T1.3 Shipping).

Trelleborg’s oil and marine operation will be showcasing fluid handling solutions that are underpinning some of the most significant trends in the offshore oil and gas markets. Its experts will be on hand to discuss Trelleborg’s Cryoline floating LNG hoses which are unlocking new possibilities in small to medium-scale transfer and LNG bunkering. At the same time, they will demonstrate how a selection of seawater intake risers can impact a project. SWILINE seawater intake risers feature unique diverless installation functionality and optimize placement of hypochlorite injection to maximize performance and service life. Field-proven, SWILINE solutions have been used on two global FLNG projects, including Shell Prelude, the world’s largest FLNG in the Timor sea, with production beginning last year.

On stand, representatives from Trelleborg’s marine and infrastructure operation will be discussing SmartPort, a technology platform that connects port operations, allowing operators to analyze asset performance and use data to improve decision making at every LNG transfer touchpoint. The system integrates assets like fenders, mooring equipment, ship performance monitoring, and navigation systems through a network of sensors.

Additionally, the stand will showcase a number of Trelleborg’s SmartPort enabled products. This will include AutoMoor, its rope-free automated mooring system for smarter, safer and more efficient berthing operations, as well as DynaMoor, a safety focused dynamic mooring solution that actively maintains constant tension in mooring lines to dampen vessel movements, eliminating the effect that passing ships and long-period waves have on moored vessels. Visitors will also be able to learn about its Integrated Ship-Shore Link (SSL) and ESD system for both large and small-scale LNG transfer and fuelling.

Trelleborg’s stand will also feature SafePilot CAT MAX, which utilizes state-of-the-art software and smart technology to help pilots and ports optimize safety and efficiency in their day-to-day operations. Additionally, Trelleborg will highlight how its pneumatic fenders which feature huge energy absorption with low reaction force, help to facilitate safe and efficient LNG transfer operations. While experts will also be on hand to provide guidance on early terminal design, berthing solution selection and sizing.

Richard Hepworth, President of Trelleborg’s marine and infrastructure operation, comments: “Trelleborg’s expertise across the LNG supply chain, coupled with the most integrated and configurable solutions will help you accelerate ROI while meeting the most demanding safety standards. Whether your operations involve traditional terminals, bunker barges or anything in between, Trelleborg has the experience and expertise to minimize your risk.

“Gastech provides the ideal platform to showcase our unique oversight across the entire supply chain and how we can help to ensure compatibility, safety and efficiency in any transfer operation, for any business model.”

Trelleborg experts will also be on hand to discuss the company’s strategic partnership with Synertec which aims to meet the global demand for more accurate and efficient LNG custody transfer. Under the agreement, Trelleborg distributes Synertec’s industry leading LNG custody transfer system across its global sales network. Trelleborg’s Cryoline floating cryogenic hoses technology, which is transforming LNG transfer operations in both near-shore and offshore environments, will complete the company’s on stand showcase.

Trelleborg recently enhanced its offering of integrated packages and safety critical systems for both LNG ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore transfer, with the acquisition of engineering group, Signum Technology Ltd. The group delivers safety critical solutions for flow control for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries, such as marine breakaway couplings and LNG transfer systems. The acquisition complements and extends Trelleborg’s product portfolio and strengthens its position as a system provider, primarily to the fast-growing LNG transfer market segment. Following Trelleborg's recent acquisition of Signum Technology and its subsidiary companies, representatives from KLAW LNG and Vee Bee Filtration will also be in attendance to discuss safety-critical solutions for flow control applications and the integration of these technologies with Trelleborg’s wider fluid handling portfolio.
