Trelleborg’s Marine Systems has been invited to discuss the key trends affecting marine fender development at PIANC’s second Young Professionals-Com (YP) Asian seminar, to be held from 11 to 13 April at The Bayleaf Hotel in Manila, Philippines.
PIANC is the forum where professionals around the world join forces to provide expert advice on cost-effective, reliable and sustainable infrastructures to facilitate the growth of waterborne transport. Established in 1885, PIANC continues to be the leading partner for government and private sector in the design, development and maintenance of ports, waterways and coastal areas.
PIANC YP-Com is dedicated to the career development of PIANC members 40 years of age and younger locally, nationally and globally. The three-day seminar, which will incorporate a visit to the Port of Batangas, is designed to highlight port technology best practice and strengthen networks with other PIANC YP member countries, particularly those in Asia.
The seminar will see Trelleborg Technical Director, Mishra Kumar, discuss a range of key trends and issues affecting fender development including the importance of rubber compound composition in the whole-life performance of fender systems and mixing and compound modulus as an effective and robust measure of fender performance. Further strengthening its longstanding association with PIANC as a Platinum Partner, Trelleborg has also been named as an official sponsor of the event.
