Manufactured as a single piece of thermoplastic, boots can be specially adapted to the application and size of the steering gear they protect, fulfilling all design criteria. Sealing surfaces designs are studied and tested in order to make sure that the chosen design is the best for your application. Using a one-piece boot limits interfaces and increases sealing reliability. It also reduces costs and makes assembly easier and quicker.

Standard boot design
Our standard boot design can fit with all EPS and HPS if air circulation is inside the rack. Our standard boots are mainly used when compact design is required, offering both low weight and robust solution in any demanding environment.
Anti-snaking boot design
Snaking is the phenomena of bending in a boot when the Rack & Pinion system is subjected to high pressure. This deformation can create holes in a boot, either though abrasion or puncturing, which in worst case could bring the Rack & Pinion system to suffer a breakdown and lead the car to lose steering.
Trelleborg’s anti-snaking boots prevent this breakdown. Our anti-snaking design of boots used is patented to withstand very high pressures, especially those experienced on sealed systems such as electric steering. Our anti-snaking boots offer complete protection for the steering gear, even at temperatures of 150 degrees.
