At Agritechnica 2019, Trelleborg Wheel Systems and Agricolus Srl unveil their long-term joint initiative to accelerate the introduction of new and innovative cloud-based solutions for precision agriculture that combine the know-how, resources and technology of both companies.
Paolo Pompei, President of Trelleborg Wheels Systems, says: “Precision farming is about providing farmers with high-technological innovations. We firmly believe that supporting sustainable farming should include an open-resource approach, where different companies, sharing the same vision, combine together their expertise to offer professional farmers the smartest digital solutions. This includes collaboration with the smartest and most innovative start-ups and developers that show potential in the segments in which Trelleborg operates.
“The opportunities for collaboration are numerous. For instance, the TLC+ pressure management system could be integrated into the Agricolus platform, providing users additional key information to increase their yield.
“The partnership with Agricolus will enrich our portfolio and extend our ability to leverage the wide experience of a young and advanced team of professionals. Trelleborg will also support Agricolus in its scale-up process in Europe and in the rest of the world.”
The Agricolus platform offers “plug and play” services for precision agriculture, which enables users to improve agronomic management of the farm by easily accessing information through web and a dedicated mobile App. Users can take advantage of forecast models, geolocated crop scouting and remote sensing from satellite in order to monitor crops health, prevent pest and diseases, and reduce cost for the use of resources.
Andrea Cruciani, CEO Agricolus, says: “We are excited to begin this strategic partnership with Trelleborg. This long-term collaboration was conceived thanks to a shared common vision of future farming. This distinguishes both companies and will be our basis to increase and develop our digital transformation processes and our growth in the agricultural sector.”.
