Trelleborg’s ProgressiveTraction™ Technology Scoops LAMMA 2015 Innovation Awards

Trelleborg has added yet another award to its collection, taking home the award for ‘Best New Product or Innovation (Environmental)’ at this year’s LAMMA Innovation Awards in the UK. Trelleborg received the award for its innovative ProgressiveTraction™ technology. Sponsored by IAgrE - the Institute of Agricultural Engineers - the award recognizes outstanding contributions to agricultural engineering and the associated industries. The judging panel recognized ProgressiveTraction™ for its positive impact on the environment.

Trelleborg’s ProgressiveTraction™ tyre, which took center stage on Trelleborg’s stand at the LAMMA 2015 exhibition, was specifically developed to increase tyre efficiency and performance thanks to a double lug. Operating on the soil at different times, the double lug progressively releases higher traction where and when required.

The double lug also provides the tyre with superior floatation capability, ensuring an even pressure distribution over the extra wide footprint, boosting the yield of crops while preserving soil from compaction and erosion.

Piero Mancinelli, R&D Director, Agricultural and Forestry Tyres at Trelleborg commented: “At Trelleborg, we hold a long-standing commitment to helping farming professionals produce more with less. To be recognized so enthusiastically in this category is testament to the ProgressiveTraction™ tyre’s ability to not only help farming professionals achieve higher efficiency and greater productivity, but do so with the maximum respect of the environment.

“The UK’s largest agricultural machinery show, the LAMMA awards represent a high standard of technical innovation. As such, we are delighted to win with such strong competition from an array of industries to receive the coveted award.”

The 2015 LAMMA Innovation Awards were held at LAMMA’15, which welcomed over 40,000 visitors from the UK and overseas. The UK’s largest farm machinery, equipment and agricultural services show, took place at the East of England Showground in Peterborough from 22 to 23 January.
