Trelleborg features its tire and complete wheel solutions at FIMA AGRICOLA 2012
Trelleborg Wheel Systems presents the best of its high-quality tires and complete wheel solutions in hall 7, stand 15-17 at the FIMA show to be held in Zaragoza, Spain, from 14 to 18 February, 2012.
Innovations displayed at the show will include the new giant 2.3 meter tire IF 750/75R46 TM1000 High Power with its 46-inch rim, the TM Blue® in size 650/65R38 and the 750/60R30.5 Twin Radial tire with new tread design. Also on view is the upgraded TM900 High Power and TM800 mark D line of tractor tires that allows higher speeds, increased loading and improved traction. And to make customers’ life easier when assessing the tire pressure for each farming operation, Trelleborg will also introduce the TLC - Trelleborg Load calculator - an advanced APP and web-based tool for farmers and contractors.
The theme on the stand, “Flying into the future”, represents the aim and values of the Trelleborg initiative for the future of agriculture. These are the introduction of a complete wheel solution engineered to boost efficiency and productivity for farmers and contractors, meeting the demand of the increasing load and torque of the newest generation of engines and transmissions, while fully respecting the environment. The theme will be illustrated by a real aircraft flying over the stand, fitted with TM1000 High Power agricultural tires.
The ambition of the TM1000 High Power along with its new Trelleborg THK rim is to redefine the standards within the agricultural industry. The complete wheel is currently undergoing a significant number of indoor and outdoor tests in order to meet ambitious performance targets under the most severe conditions, both in the field and on the road. During 2012, TM1000 High Power range will be enlarged with the introduction of six further sizes between 30 and 42 inches to fit the newest breed of high power tractors.
Specifically engineered for high power tractors, the THK features a new concept of rim that has an advanced knurling design with a higher profile, which maximize performance when the tire is operating at high speed and torque. In addition, a new painting process is used that maximizes the friction characteristics of the rim when the tire is fitted.
During field operations the tire gives a traction capacity five to eight percent higher compared to other premium brand competitors, with a five percent wider footprint at low inflation pressure enhanced by Trelleborg BlueTire™ technology. On the road, premium rolling resistance performance is expected to lower fuel consumption and emissions by four to six percent compared to the average of the market, providing farmers with savings of up to 1,300 EUR per year.
The new size 750/60R30.5 Twin Radial tire has superior floatation characteristics on trailers and slurry tankers, to further respect the soil and improve driver’s comfort by lowering noise. In addition, long tire life contributes significantly to lower overall operating costs for the farmer.
Trelleborg Wheel systems features the upgraded TM900 High Power and TM800 mark D lines of tractor tires that can achieve speeds of up to 65 kph and increase loading capacity by between eight and nine and a half percent when compared to an A8-rated version of the same tire.
The new TLC - Trelleborg Load Calculator - is a professional tool developed for farmers, contractors as well as specialized tire & machinery dealers to identify the tire inflation pressure suitable for every application, machine configuration and load. The TLC, designed to be smart and user-friendly, will provide farming professionals with higher productivity and efficiency driven by the appropriate usage of inflation pressure.
Developed both for on-line and off-line versions, as well as APPs for tablets and smartphones, the tool will be available at FIMA, for the first time, in the following languages: English, Spanish and French.
