Environmental Commitment

Trelleborg's Environment, Health and Safety Policy
The Company Policy is applied within all manufacturing sites for tires and rims.
Trelleborg Wheel Systems is certified according to UNI EN ISO 9001 and UNI EN ISO 14001 standards.
Innovation for sustainable farming
Farmers along with leading manufacturers will increasingly demand innovations that meet sustainable agricultural requirements. They will promote independent farming technologies, such as the production of renewable and alternative sources of energy, as well as advanced recycling techniques.
We challenge our organization daily to look for an environmentally friendly approaches that further improve the performance and efficiency of our products and solutions.
The primary goal of the TM Blue™ concept is to enable farmers to win twice. First, the farmers will profit directly from the superior productivity of TM solutions.
Secondly, they will benefit from Trelleborg caring for the environment.
Blue Emissions
Trelleborg TM tyres provide excellent traction in the field significantly reducing slippage on any kind of soil.
In addition, TM solutions provide impressive fuel consumption saving on the road with the consequent massive reduction of CO2 emissions (up to 2.550 € saving per year).
Protecting soil and roots
Tires from Trelleborg Wheel Systems for agricultural and forestry purposes are designed to protect soil from compacting to give higher yields from crops. In forests and on rough terrian, round tire shoulders minimize the impact on root systems.
AOF European Directive
Ahead of European Directive 76/769/EEC, that came into force on 1 January 2010, the entire range of agricultural, forestry and industrial tires offered by Trelleborg Wheel Systems uses extender oils that comply with limits on Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs). The new extender oils maintain the excellent overall performance of Trelleborg tires while respecting the environment.
EU REACH Program
The European Union (EU) has adopted Regulation 1907/2006/EC (REACH), a stringent regulatory framework for the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals. REACH establishes obligations for Manufacturers, Importers and Downstream Users of chemical substances imported to, or produced in, the European Union in amounts exceeding 1 ton per year. Only substances registered at the EU Chemicals Agency will be allowed for use in the EU/EEA.
Trelleborg is a Downstream user of chemical substances, and as such, is pro-actively cooperating with all suppliers and partners to ensure compliance with REACH requirements.
Water recycling
Over the last few years, Trelleborg has invested significantly in industrial water recycling. More than 2,000,000 cubic meters per year can be saved thanks to the newest four closed-circuit installations for recycling and cooling of industrial water.
Improve waste management
According to 5S methods, focus teams have been set up within facilities in order to reduce overall raw material waste. A redesigned collection process ensures the flow of waste materials to recycling centers(Waste material recycling increased by 20%). A new project, just started-up, will improve the recovery in production of carbon black from air abatement, reducing environmental impact.
