In order to support growth, reduce footprint complexity and improve production efficiencies, Trelleborg has decided to consolidate all of its locations that produce sealing profiles in Ohio. Associates will come together under one roof, with the creation of a new world-class facility that will showcase Trelleborg’s market leading capabilities and optimize production flow. The company has identified a green field site close to its current premises to build the new state-of-the-art facility, which it expects to complete in October 2018.
After thorough discussions and evaluation regarding what is best for Trelleborg’s sealing profile customers and the supply chain that serves them, building the new facility in Aurora will allow Trelleborg to consolidate operations from its Bristol, Indiana site into the new Ohio facility. The analysis revealed that serving customers out of one central facility was more efficient and provided better long-term stability for the entire operation. All Indiana employees will be offered positions at the new Ohio location and relocation support will be given should employees decide to move.
Related to these streamlining actions and designed to improved productivity and efficiency, Trelleborg also announced that it will be transitioning certain work streams to a new facility in Mexico. The production facility based closer in proximity to the company’s Mexican customer base will offer significant improvements in service delivery. Operations will be transitioned over time and on a schedule still being determined.
