Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation will be presenting the advancement of plastic pipeline systems at the eighth Vinyl India Summit on April 12-13 in Mumbai, India.
Held at the Grand Hyatt, the two-day summit will bring together over 850 delegates and 40 speakers from across all facets of the vinyl industry. Among the lineup of experts will be Business Development Manager, Martijn Boerma, who will discuss the positive impact of superior joint design and materials on pipeline infrastructure.

This growth is set to accelerate as the government forges ahead with plans for smart cities, and further expansion of urban renewal projects supported by AMRUT1. So far, almost 500 water supply and sewerage projects have been undertaken across 115 cities in the region2, successfully enhancing water networks.
“But improving the performance of pipeline infrastructure demands continuous innovation in both pipes and jointing systems, as well as their method of manufacture and installation. Superior materials, coupled with improved seal and joint design, play a key role in extending the service life of elastomeric joints. This has a direct effect on reducing maintenance cost while improving hygiene. Elastomeric Joints in Plastic Pipe Systems - Evolution, Significance and Case Study will be presented by Martijn Boerma on Friday, April 13th at 14:00. Leaders of the vinyl industry will gain insights on the developments and importance of reliable pipe jointing. They will also learn how to prevent leaks from infiltration and exfiltration, in potable water and wastewater pipeline systems. Seal design and testing methods will be discussed, such as physical and chemical stress relaxation tests using ISO methodology. This, in turn, will help to predict the long-term durability of elastomeric joints.
To conclude, he will be sharing three case studies that demonstrate the crucial role that elastomeric joints can play in pipe systems worldwide.
