The epros®DrainPacker repair system is a sectional or point repair method for all types of wastewater and sewer pipes. The system uses epros® silicate resins (epros®ResinSystems) and chemically resistant CRF+ glass fibre.

How the epros®DrainPacker works

A renovation packer carrying a wrapped-around resin-wetted fibreglass mat is pushed with the help of air push rods or pulled by means of a rope to the point of repair. The exact position of the point in need of repair is determined beforehand by TV inspection.

A permanent bond between the fibreglass mat and the host pipe wall

When the epros®DrainPacker has reached the correct position, it is gradually inflated by means of compressed air. 

Thus the packer expands towards the pipe wall and presses the impregnated fibreglass mat in a tight fit against the host pipe with excessive reaction resin penetrating into the damage. 

The result:  a permanent bond between the fibreglass mat and the host pipe wall.

A Pipe-in-pipe-system

The pressure will be kept until the resin-impregnated fibreglass mat is cured. 

After complete cure of the reaction resin, the packer is deflated and removed from the pipe. 

The cured fibreglass mat covers the full area of the repaired pipe section without obstructing the service flow. The pipe-in-pipe system thus created forms an integral system with the host pipe and fully meets the hydraulic requirements.

  • Extreme pipe or joint offsets
  • Broken or collapsed pipes
  • Large cross-sectional reductions in conjunction with bedding problems
  • Longitudinal cracks at pipe connections

Short Packers

  • Rigid design for specific use with larger service flows
  • Available in diameters from DN 100 – DN 700
    (multiple size, e.g. DN 150 - 200)
  • Maximum repair length – depending on packer size – from 605 to 670 mm
  • Adjustable wheel-sets for centring the packer in the pipe for obtaining uniform results
  • Bypass model
  • Low maintenance and repairable
Long packer

Long Packers

  • Available in the sizes DN 200 - DN 800
  • Max. repair length – depending on packer design – from 200 to 4565 mm
  • Very low weight
  • This very flexible packer can be easily introduced through DN 600 manhole lids.
  • They can be positioned with push rods or pull rope.
  • No wheelset or bypass required; special assemblies available on request.
Flexpacker

Flexible Packers

  • Available in diameters from DN 100 - DN 1200
    (multiple size, e.g. DN 150 - 250)
  • Maximum repair length – depending on packer size – from 560 to 4630 mm
  • Flexible packers allowing easy installation from the manhole into the pipe
  • Adjustable wheel-sets for centring the packer in the pipe for obtaining uniform results
  • With Bypass (not for packer DN 100/150)
  • Low maintenance and repairable
Lateral packer

Lateral Packers

  • Available in the sizes DN 35 - DN 200
  • Max. repair length – depending on packer design – from 210 to 4710 mm
  • This very flexible packer can be easily introduced even through small openings.
  • They can be positioned with push rods or pull rope.
  • No wheelset or bypass required.
