Umbilical Floats
Our range of UF-series umbilical floats are constructed using a polyethylene outer shell filled with a high performance syntactic foam core. A heavy-duty replaceable hinge and fastening system are standard on all floats and both are designed for replacement if damaged during use. The internal bore running axially through the float is bell mouthed at each end to allow flexing of the cable without either forcing open the float body or damaging the cable.
Umbilical floats are used in conjunction with ROVs to keep the required length of cable (dependent on the depth at which the ROV is operating) buoyant underwater.
They can also be used in a number of general/cable/umbilical/hose buoyancy applications where the diameter of the cable/hose does not exceed 90mm.
Advantages:
- The UF-series of floats incorporates two quick release, double locking latch mechanisms to reduce installation/removal time
- A unique interchangeable internal grommet allows use of standard floats on all umbilicals 25-90mm in diameter simply by changing the grommet
- Several standard float sizes are available
