Elastopipe™ - Other Features
Elastopipe's resitance to explosion is unmatched and is only limited by the choice of support system used. Its resistance to impact is best demonstrated by there being no reduction in burst pressure following an impact of 800J.
Elastopipe™ has a smooth inner surface (Hazen-Williams factor of c=155) that lasts throughout the life of the product. This ensures high water flow speeds (limited by legislation to a maximum of 10m/s).
Elastopipe's flexibility serves to dramatically reduce dynamic pressure effects, e.g. water hammer. Testing has shown a reduction in water hammer of up to 60% compared with other systems. The Elastopipe™ system also displays a reduction in noise when compared with other systems.
Elastopipe can be installed without the use of adhesives, welding or any hot work. It can be cut with a hand held pipe cutter without the risk of sparks occurring, the pipes are joined together mechanically using air operated hand tools. The flexibility of Elastopipe means that it can be easily bent to a radius equal to five time its own diameter. These features mean that installation is a much simpler process than with rigid pipes and can result in a reduction of up to 50% in installation times when compared to traditional steel systems.
