J-tube seals
A J-tube seal is designed to act as a seal and as a corrosion inhibitor between an umbilical/flexible pipeline and a J-tube on offshore platforms.
Two designs of J-tube seal are available. The diverless design is pre-installed prior to deployment and features a polyurethane lined compliant clamp to prevent contact of metallic components with the umbilical/flowline as one unit. The other version is installed by a diver after deployment and is designed for retrofit applications.
Diver Installed J-Tube Seal
Advantages:
- The J-tube seal features a fully split design enabling installation after termination of the umbilical/flowline
- Polyurethane lined compliant clamp of the diverless J-tube seal reduces the possibility of damage to the umbilical outer layer, and creates a wide umbilical diameter tolerance range.
- Individually designed, diver installed J-tube seal suits specific requirements of each installation and allows for uncertainty of accurate orientation of the umbilical/flexible as it exits the J-tube.
Scope of supply: Typical umbilical/flowline diameters of 50 to 150mm. J-tube internal diameters of 250 to 400mm.
