Cumberland Grip

Cumberland Grip
The Cumberland Grip is generally used on seismic survey towed cables as well as ocean bottom cable systems for anchor weight attachment.

The Cumberland Grip provides a safe and convenient method of attaching moderate load diverters and tow points to armoured or sheathed cables. The integrated friction grip clamp and bend stiffeners control cable curvature and overbend.

Our seismic products ensure the safe handling and deployment of cables and survey spreads. The Cumberland Grip is generally used on seismic survey towed cables as well as ocean bottom cable systems for anchor weight attachment.

Advantages:

  • The design creates an integrated long friction grip clamp and bend stiffener to control cable curvature all in one repositionable and economic unit.
  • It offers uniform grip over its entire length
  • The split design allows installation/removal after termination of the cable and it can be spooled after the removal of the yoke/carrier ring.

We can supply for cables from 10 to 70mm, peak loads 1.5kN @ 110 degrees to 30kN @ 45 degrees.
