Ammonite
Designed to meet the exacting demands of our marine seismic clients, the Ammonite range combines field-proven products in a hybrid system comprising a streamer clamp, a stiffener assembly and metallic bend restrictors. An Ammonite assembly is used as an attachment point on outer lead-in cables for towing applications. The assembly protects the cable from over-bending and comprises an articulated restrictor assembly together with bend stiffeners either side of the attachment point, which can be lead-in or connector type.
The Ammonite Assembly is generally used on outer lead-in cables for attachment of towing chains or paravane type diverters, where towing forces are higher than those on inner lead-in cables where an LB assembly [link to lead-in assemblies page] would be used. It can also be used on ocean bottom cable systems as an anchor weight attachment point.
Advantages:
- Fully split design allows complete field installation and replacement
- Increased bending moment capacity
- The assembly can offer a cable or connector mounted arrangement
- There is no metallic contact with the cable due to the use of polyurethane lined compliant clamps
- Multiple yoke attachment options and multiple clamps give high grip capacity
- The assembly is spoolable - conditions can be incorporated into the design
- Material selection is available to suit client specification
We can supply cable sizes 25 to 100mm with a maximum axial load to 200kN.
