Split Bend Stiffener
Bend stiffeners add local stiffness to an umbilical/flowline to limit bending stresses and curvature to acceptable levels. The fully split, bolt on bend stiffener/mount assembly allows installation to continue after termination of the cable has been completed.
Bend stiffeners are designed to protect a minimum bend radius under defined tension and angle combinations. Our unique modular mould systems allow each stiffener to be individually engineered to meet the load cases of each particular application. The split bend stiffener is used in various applications with seismic towed arrays, i.e. lead-in cables, gun umbilicals etc., where the bend stiffener is required to be removed or replaced.
