Trelleborg Offshore do Brasil
Things are progressing well on our new, state-of-the-art facility in Brazil. The facility is well into the construction phase and we are on target to have some production by the end of 2012.
Feed back to our development has been very positive and we would like to thank all those that have been so encouraging in welcoming our move.
Sod-cutting ceremony held late December 2010 to initiate work at the location. Below Trelleborg CEO, Peter Nilsson can be seen kicking off the development.
The plant will be located in the coastal city of Macae, approximately 180 kilometres north of Rio de Janerio. Macae is known as Brazil's oil capital since essentially all major related project-engineering and equipment companies have facilities there. For a long time, Trelleborg Offshore's sales to the Oil & Gas community in Brazil have been significant and this is a logical step to continue our support of our customers and proves our serious commitment to the region.
The location will feature a 75,000 square foot facility with total land area of 7 acres. Trelleborg Offshore's full product range will be available from this location including Drill Riser Buoyancy modules; manufacture, inspection and repair.
