Since commencing its production of rehabilitation pipe liner solutions back in 2011, Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation has expanded with great success. As a result, the business has outgrown its current production facility in Tauragé, Lithuania, and is constructing a new 2,000 meter square building next door. Trelleborg will hire for a number of positions at the new facility and will invest in further machinery to cater to the increased production levels expected.
An official ground-breaking ceremony was held at the site, with Tauragé’s District Mayor, Sigitas Mičiulis in attendance. A time capsule was buried containing a certification of quality, to officially commemorate the occasion and mark the location as a place of development and innovation. A total of nine Trelleborg representatives were present, along with the Tauragé Industrial Park founder, Antanas Stankus.
Andreas Bichler, R&D Director within Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation, says: “Following the integration of our new pipe liner production capabilities late last year, our production levels have increased significantly. We expect construction of the new manufacturing facility to be completed by November 2016 and once all operations have fully transitioned into the new building, we forecast a 50% increase in production output for the Lithuanian facility.
“In addition, we believe the new space will improve business effectiveness and enable us to respond to our customers’ demands with even greater speed and efficiency. With the market continuing to develop and demand increasing, we have put ourselves in the best position to lead the charge.
All of Trelleborg’s pipe rehabilitation operations will move from their current production location to the new facility. All carrier materials including DrainLiner, DrainPlusLiner, DrainFlexLiner, MtH Liner, LCR Liner and LCR Hat profiles, will be manufactured here.
Mikael Fryklund, Business Area President for Trelleborg Industrial Solutions and Bill Hagenberg, Business Unit President for Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation, were among the Trelleborg management present at the official ceremony.
