Customized expansion joints

We offer you the opportunity of designing and manufacturing a tailor-made full faced rubber flanges expansion joint to cover the most constraining applications, in term of dimensions, fluid, temperatures, admissible movements, etc...

Full-faced rubber flange bellow
Loose steel flanges with supporting collar giving a smooth movement to the bellow.
High convolution and therefore highly flexible.
Compensate for high movements due to its low inherent resistance.
Building length: 250 / 300 mm.
Dimensions: DN 200 - DN 2800.

Full-faced rubber flange bellow
Integrated steel flanges.
Gives small reaction forces, providing high reliability and long service life.
Designed for vacuum 0,8-1,0 bar as standard.
Building length: on request.
Dimensions: on request, up to DN 3200.

We offer you the option of designing and manufacturing all types of special expansion joint as conical, square, multi-convolutions, no convolution, etc...

Chemical Resistance

In the document below, please find a table where the most common chemicals and the effects on the assortments of our rubber material can be found. The table indicates the effects of specific chemicals on rubber expansion joints. The table comprises recommendations which do not imply an undertaking or a guarantee on the part of Trelleborg. If you feel unsure, or if the chemical in question can not be found in the table, or if the medium is a mixture of two or more chemicals etc., please contact us for further information.

Please find below, guidelines how to install the different types of expansion joints and what to be careful with, as well as, how to calculate for the thrust on the fixing points of the pipes.

Storage Guideline

In the majority of products based on vulcanised rubber, storage for a certain period inevitably induces changes in the physical properties of the stored products. Consequently, these products may not have their ultimate performance characteristics if stored for a length of time before installation (for example, an excess hardness, softening of the rubber or cracks and other surface deteriorations). These changes may result from one particular factor or from a combination of factors, namely the effect of oxygen, ozone, light, heat and humidity. The adverse effects of these factors may be minimised by a careful choice of the storage conditions.
