Coating capabilities

Rubber, urethane and other polymers are used to provide optimized coating properties for a substrate. Rubber-coated textiles offer a variety of unique physical properties to meet demanding performance requirements. Urethane or polyurethane (PU) is known, in particular, for its excellent tear strength, adhesion to fabrics, and air holding capabilities. A wide variety of coatings are available, and a wide range of unique physical properties as well as chemical, fluid, and temperature resistances are possible. Rubber

Trelleborg has developed a diversified line of cured and uncured rubber coated fabrics and unsupported gums. We can apply rubber compound coatings to a wide variety of textile substrates. Trelleborg offers a wide range of proven rubber coated products as well as opportunities to utilize our in-house development teams and processing capabilities to develop coatings for specialized applications.

Urethane

Trelleborg has built up an extensive portfolio of custom formulations to accelerate performance in critical applications. We can apply urethane coating to common fabrics, such as nylon and polyester, as well as specialized fabrics such as Kevlar® and Nomex®. Our urethane processing capabilities also include film lamination and fabric-to-fabric lamination. Urethane-coated fabrics are used extensively in highly demanding applications. Trelleborg is the leading supplier of urethane-coated material used in the fabrication of aircraft evacuation slides.
