Who said pipe rehabilitation is boring? Our SuperSealer profile of the month, Stephan Raab, shares information about his job, his interests and his opinion about the PipeCycle!
Who are you?
Stephan Raab. Commercial Manager for pipe rehabilitation systems in Europe and Asia, as well as Marketing Manager for pipe seals.
What challenges do you face in your job?
The world is changing rapidly. We face customers today who are better informed about their business partners than ever before and we, as a supplier, need to supply more than just a product. To be a preferred supplier, we must employ more than traditional sales and marketing measures. We must also draw on digital customization capabilities via various channels. This is the challenge for me: to create a base for Trelleborg’s pipe seals to be seen as a business accelerator for our customers.
What do you like most about your job?
What I like most about my job is the fact that Trelleborg gives me the chance to grow professionally and personally; through various excellence programs, the training possibilities offered by Trelleborg University, as well as the many professional e-learning courses available on the Intranet.
Tell us about: the PipeCycle.
To me, the PipeCycle is the perfect synonym for our deep industry knowledge and insights about pipes and pipe systems; from when a pipe is produced, over its calculated lifetime, to when it can be rehabilitated and its lifecycle extended for another 50 years, with zero leakage and total performance.
What do you do in your free time?
I love to play tennis. My 12 year-old son started playing tennis two years ago and so I returned to swing the racket again after an 18-year absence. It’s challenging, mainly because my body is less resilient than it was 18 years ago, but relaxing at the same time.
