Gabriel de Souza Gross, aged 4, from the Colégio Municipal Beija Flor school in Santana de Parnaíba, Brazil said: “Tell the story again!”
Gabriel is just one of the 4,504 children that Trelleborg helps support through the “The Day Care for All Children” project run by “Save the Children”. The project contributes to improving the quality of the children’s education at a day care center in Santana de Parnaíba in 2015 and 2016, close to one of Trelleborg’s facilities in Brazil.
By training teachers and donating books, the project has improved the educational activities carried out by the municipal schools of Santana de Parnaíba and has encouraged children to read.
The training sessions led to the principal and ADIs setting up reading corners and increasing their efforts to make reading time and school spaces pleasant and dynamic; involving children, families and teachers.
Gabriel de Souza Gross, born on 06/11/2012, is one of the children taking part in the project. The school tells us; “Gabriel was a very impatient child who was not used to sitting and listening to stories, and always teased the kids sitting next to him. When he was told off he replied by raising his hand to hit the ADIs, teachers and schoolmates.
“Little by little, Gabriel has become more interested in the world of reading since the reading corner was set up at the school and books and games were donated. On account of the donations, we created a small library called World of Wisdom, where Gabriel loves to listen to stories and turn the pages of the books.”
