Floating Dredging Hoses

RockFloat® floating hoses

Trelleborg Velp Floating hose systems have been used on all the major reclamation projects around the world. Driven by the ever increasing demand for longer lifetimes and the fact that floating hoses are used for cutter jobs these days Trelleborg Velp has redesigned the classic rubber lined floating hose.

Incorporation the same design principle as found in the RockTrail hoses the latest innovation is the RockFloat® Floating discharge hose.

By reducing the polymer contact surface and adding NiHard4 cast wear rings the RockFloat hoses show an amazing improvement in lifetime.

It is now possible to use flexible rubber floating hose as a cutter discharge line without the risk of trashing that line within a few weeks of operation.

The patented RockFloat® floating discharge hoses feature:

  • Embedded NiHard4 cast rings
  • Mohard liner in the fittings
  • Improved bending characteristics
  • Depending on application a lifetime improvement of x 25 compared to the classic rubber lined floating hose
  • Applicable for offshore (rock) cutter jobs
  • Virtually no maintenance

These features make the following applications possible:

  • Rock cutter discharge line
  • Hopper bow connection discharge line
  • Hopper mainline discharge applications with very abrasive solids

Floatline

Trelleborg Velp has been active on the floatline system markets since 1994. Trelleborg Velp is able to show 'state of the art floatline' and promotes their product as the most reliable connection between ship and coast.

The floatline systems are available as standard in a diameter range of 200 mm up to and including 2000 mm. The only limit for special is their technical feasibility. Continuing development and innovation keep the floatline concept up to date.

Our quality assurance for rubberizing ans processing control in autoclaves is part of in-house quality guarantee system which Trelleborg Velp have set up for our complete production facility. This is a skilled operator based system. Each stage in hose production is inspected and signed off by the highly skilled operator immediately on completion. Quality control and involvement combined in one system.
