Smartdock Docking and Piloting Systems
Smartdock® is a docking aid system that provides vital speed and distance information to pilots and masters across the critical last 200 metres of the docking operation.
Laser sensors installed on the jetty measure the distance of the vessel’s bow and stern from the jetty fender line. The data is processed through the Smartdock® software and displayed in a number of ways.
This enables pilots and masters to monitor the approach and take necessary action to avoid an incident should the vessel speed or approach angle move outside pre-set parameters. Once the vessel is moored, Smartdock can be used to monitor drift and sway at the berth.
