OMADS
Trelleborg Harbour Marine’s Offshore Mooring and Docking System (OMADS) is an integrated system that is used to manage the process of docking of a vessel to a floating facility This includes monitoring the approach, mooring and departure phases. It is used primarily for FPSO and FLNG applications.
OMADS uses the advanced Real-time Kinematic (RTK) GPS technology to provide accurate relative position information to enable vessel operators to monitor the process closely. This minimises the risk of a mooring incident.
The system consists of hardware installed permanently on the primary vessel, and a battery-powered portable unit for the secondary vessel. Information is displayed graphically on both units in either 2D or 3D modes, or both with the auxiliary view.
Communication is via UHF telemetry. An optional main display board similar to jetty-based systems may be installed on the primary vessel to provide numeric approach data.
