Glass Microspheres
The company was the first to offer a complete line of commercially available aerospace grade glass microspheres (Eccospheres®) and are the largest manufacturer of volume syntactic foam in the world. Eccospheres® glass microspheres are at the ultimate high performance end of the spectrum and are commonly used in a multitude of specialised subsea vehicles including pioneering manned submersibles and nuclear submarines.
Eccospheres® are also used in a variety of thermal insulation applications such as high performance syntactic tape and also in deepsea buoyancy solutions such as ROV buoyancy blocks operating at up to 7,000msw (almost 23,000ft).
Trelleborg are also the world's largest supplier of
cenospheres - hollow aluminium silicate Microspheres that are extracted from fly-ash.
