Nothing is so good that it cannot be made “better”. With almost 50 years of experience in material, design and development, Trelleborg Forsheda Pipe Seals research and development department is continually at work to improve existing and develop new sealing systems.
Trelleborg Forsheda Pipe Seals advanced non-linear finite element computer modelling technology (FEA) allows our engineers to predict the performance of joints and seals in application to a high degree of accuracy. All seals can be tested in our own test laboratory and we can also give technical support to our customers.
Seals are developed in close association with pipe manufacturers, specifiers and installation contractors to allow the construction of pipelines to meet the highest possible reliability standards.

We manufacture seals in Poland, Spain and Sweden using a variety of process technologies. All facilities are ISO 9001:2000 accredited.
The main processes used in manufacturing our seals are: |
 |
Moulding
We mould elastomer seals using compression and injection moulding, manufacturing seals from 50 mm diameter to over 1 meter. We also have long experience in manufacturing of two component pipe seals i.e. EPDM/PP, co-injection of TPE/PP.
Extrusion/Splicing
Many of our seals are manufactured by extruding a profile, cutting to a specified length, and splicing using vulcanisation to form the finished seal. Main applications are in seals for concrete and structural wall pipes. Currently we manufacture hundreds of different profiles many tailored to suit specific customer applications. Vulcanising of the joint is achieved by injection or compression/film moulding. We have co-extrusion capability allowing us to manufacture profiles with two hardness´s of compound. This technique enables the manufacture of profiles with varying properties across the section optimising performance.
Our policy is to evaluate the environmental impact of all rawmaterials and production processes. This continuous process has resulted in the elimination of toxic oil additives from rubber mixtures, the minimisation of rejected and waste material, and the extensive use of recycable materials in our manufacturing process. Our facilities in Poland, Spain and Sweden are all accredited to ISO 14001.
