More advances in twin radial tires

Trelleborg Wheel Systems introduces an innovative tread design for its new size 710/50R26.5 Twin Radial tire.
This enhances flotation characteristics to further respect the soil, protects driver’s health by lowering noise and contributes to lower overall operating costs for the farmer.

The new 710/50R26.5 Twin Radial guarantees a 15 percent wider footprint area compared to the previous version. In addition, the tire has two additional lugs and a longer central block. An increased ratio between the land and sea areas and a 14 percent deeper lug provides a longer tire life, contributing to lower operating costs.
“Over time high levels of noise may cause health problems to farmers and the movement of agricultural machines, especially in towns or villages, contributes significantly to noise pollution,” says Daniele Lorenzetti, VP Research and Development of Trelleborg Agriculture Division.
“Tests were carried out on the 710/50R26.5 for both tire noise and pass-by noise. Trelleborg tires demonstrated a significantly lower noise level than competitors’ tires both at 40 and 50 kilometers per hour, with nominal pressure of four bars and 4,000 kilogram load per tire.”
The Trelleborg Twin Radial range comprises ten sizes of high quality radial tires for trailers that are ideal in all working conditions. The range’s main benefits are outstanding rider comfort, even wear, excellent self-cleaning, reduced fuel consumption and unrivalled ground care.
