Capstan

Used to haul in a messenger line, which in turn pulls the mooring line to the quick release hook. Trelleborg Marine Systems electric Capstan removes the need for mooring crews to haul in the lines manually.

The electric capstan motor is housed within a protective structure, either within the base of a QRH or as a stand-alone product serving one or more QRH units.

A critical part of the mooring operation, capstans need to be robust and reliable to ensure the process is trouble-free and efficient. Trelleborg capstans are built to the highest quality, meaning downtime and maintenance costs are kept to a minimum.

Capstans can be supplied for either non-hazardous areas or as a certified unit for hazardous areas. Several line-pull capacities can be specified.
