Load Monitoring
SmartHook® Load Monitoring offers a significant advance in safe mooring systems and is unique to Trelleborg. SmartHook® automatically measures mooring line tension as soon as lines are attached to each hook. Real time loads are displayed on a smart control box at each hook unit, whilst visual and audible alarms warn operating personnel of dangerous loads and imbalance between mooring lines. Essential data is now available locally to those who need it most – the mooring crew and operators on the jetty, at economical cost.
SmartHook® is also the key to Trelleborg's central load monitoring system. Operators can view all mooring loads in real time on a graphic display of the berth.
- Alarm levels can be set to warn when changing conditions under/overload mooring lines outside limits.
- Mooring load display is updated every second. LCD display panel continually scrolls through line tension for each hook.
- Average and Peak Loads are automatically displayed.
- Optional high intensity light and siren alarms jetty and ship-based personnel in the event of high or low line loads.
- Allows pre-tensioning of mooring lines – takes away the guesswork.
- SmartHook® can be supplied factory fitted to Trelleborg hooks or retrofitted to most existing quick release hooks at site.
- No additional site wiring is required.
- SmartHook® can be extended over digital communications to provide a full load monitoring system, at the Marine Control Room.
