Monopiles and dolphins are load sensitive structures commonly used on oil, gas and bulk terminals as well as many RoRo berths.
The size, complexity and cost of the structure can depend on fender and mooring loads, so minimising and/or monitoring loads may reduce construction costs significantly. Where loads are critical, Parallel Motion fender systems can reduce input forces as much as 60% compared to conventional fender designs.
