As the standard protection methods of carbon or duplex steel are not sufficient in the splash zone against waves, tide , all thinkable weather conditions and highly oxygenated seawater. The rubber coating provides a proven protection of the riser.
Trelleborg developed a maintenance free coating system for the lifetime expectancy of a platform based on a flexible and highly resistant elastomer.

- designed for use in the most corrosive area, the splash zone
- excellent bonding to carbon , duplex or super duplex steel
- resistant against mechanical impact and blast
- antifouling system to be integrated when required, partially or complete
- low friction PTFE –layer to be integrated where required
- fire protection system with Viking Firestop can be applied
- excellent resistance to cathodic disbondment
The risers form an important and critical part in the complete production installation, when production is up a running repairs and maintenance are almost impossible.
