The cover is exposed to external stresses.
According to its conditions of use, it must withstand ozone, UV radiation, temperatures, sprayed substances, abrasion, etc.
Like the tube, the cover is manufactured using a compound specific to each hose.
Some hoses have colored strips produced by co-extrusion.

- fabric impression.
