Sheet Forming Performance
Polystyrene (PS) - Extruded PS sheet is readily thermoformed for production of food packaging but general-purpose PS is typically not as strong as advanced engineering thermoplastics.
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) - The transparency of PVC sheet makes the material ideal for thermoforming containers and blister packaging.
Polypropylene (PP) - Semi crystalline PP resins provide a blance of low density, impact resistance and stiffness for rigid packaging applications such as thermoformed food trays and containers.
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) - Is a class of plastics used to thermoform food and non-food packaging. It is durable as well as disposable and/or recyclable.
Amorphous PET (APET) - Is tough, odorless and tasteless. It produces packaging with outstanding gloss, clarity and sparkle. It is grease and stain resistant and heat sealable.
Crystalline PET (CPET) - Is an opaque plastic for the production of attractive, thermally stable, lightweight food trays. Trays are reheatable: can go from -40F freezer direct to microwave or oven at 400F
Amorphous PET Copolymer (PETG) - Maintains high clarity even in thick section and is ideal for packaging pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food and personal care items. Low outgassing makes the material good for electrconic components packaging. Extruded PETG heavy-gauge sheet is widely used for thermoforming.
