Jet Engine Vanes
Trelleborg Emerson & Cuming, Inc microspheres are used in the formulation of a light weight adhesive system that is injected into the hollow titanium outlet guide vanes of gas turbine engines on commercial aircraft. The vanes are used to ensure that air is directed through the engine via the optimum path. The syntactic is designed to absorb vibrational energy over a wide operational temperature range and provide improved foreign object damage tolerance.
