Ballistic Panels, Pipes & Vehicles
Syntactic materials made from glass balloons have proven to be inherently energy absorbing. Preliminary testing being conducted by us indicates that micro and macroballoons in a thermosetting polymer matrix produce syntactic foams that offer a 10:1 weight advantage over steel with superior blast protection.
Now being explored are formulations featuring varied combinations of densities, strength, stiffness, failure strain and energy of fracture with a goal of producing thinner, lighter weight products for blast mitigating armor protection.
