Coated Spheres Research Programs
Among the development programs currently underway at Trelleborg Emerson & Cuming's advanced research laboratories are:
Use of titanium dioxide to coat glass microspheres. Initial tests demonstrate that the coated balloons can produce paints incorporating less pigment to obtain desired tint strength thereby reducing weight for increased fuel efficiency.
Manufacture of silver-coated balloons for use in formulating high-conductivity epoxy adhesives, coating and potting compounds for electronics applications.
Ability of carbon coated microspheres to increase electrical conductivity and marking systems.
Evaluation of unique coatings to produce microspheres for the manufacture of products such as water purification modules.
