Signature Management
Modern "stealth" technology uses resin systems that incorporate hollow glass microspheres to reduce the detectability of aircraft via radar, infrared or accoustic technologies. For example, today's newest stealth aircraft incorporate advanced composites and radar-absorbing materials based on microballoons to make the external skin of the craft nearly invisible to most current radar.
Silver coatings on both glass and ceramic microballoons is an application developed for today's specifications. Coating thickness, particle density and particle size distribution are qualities used to develop this unique individual signature specification.
