Low Pressure Pneumatic Fenders

The Dunlop GRG’s Low Pressure Pneumatic Fender is the preferred option for ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore berthing of naval vessels. Unlike other Fenders, it is designed to spread berthing forces over a large area, achieving a far lower load reaction per unit. This makes the Dunlop Fender ideal for naval vessels whose thin hulls and sensitive electronical systems need protection and careful berthing.

Although tough enough to withstand the most hostile environments, the Dunlop Fender is relatively lightweight and can easily be deflated and stored on board for re-use at each port of call.

Whilst Dunlop low pressure pneumatic fenders can be supplied to customers' specified dimensions, a typical range of sizes are as follows:

Construction

Dunlop LP Fenders are constructed from a woven high tenacity, continuous filament nylon based fabric, coated on both sides with an abrasion resistant synthetic rubber compound. Individual sections are sewn together using specialist heavy duty equipment and then vulcanised.

The parabolic ends for moulded end fenders are fabricated from heavy duty nylon cord laid in a matrix of rubber and nylon fabric.

Small Navy Fenders

To compliment the range of standard size Low Pressure Pneumatic Fenders, Dunlop GRG also manufacture and supply two smaller size Fenders to UK MOD(N) Specification D/NSC/ES221/238/7/06/01.

Manufactured from synthetic textile, coated on both sides with abrasion resistant polychloroprene, these two small Fenders are fitted with a swivel shackle at each end connected by an integral tension cable. These Fenders are lightweight giving ease of deployment whilst at the same time providing effective full protection.
