Neal Borg
Neal Borg graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in 2007 from the University of Malta, after which he worked in Malta in an industrial engineering position. Later Neal furthered his studies with a Master of Engineering Management from the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Neal’s career ambition is to learn, network and gather as much experience as possible during the graduate trainee program, gradually moving into a Product Management position. In the longer term his wish is to become an expert in a product area and collaborate with customers in new developments.
“Currently I form part of the Columbus Forsheda-Malta project team,” Neal says. “My areas of responsibility in the project include learning the manufacturing process, planning the layout of the new factory in Malta, involvement in the physical machine moves, employee training and as from recently, taking over product management for the range moving to Malta. For the duration of the first phase of the project, lasting up to 6 months, I am based at TSS Forsheda in Sweden.”
From the trainee program, Neal’s biggest learning so far is the importance of always being open to new ideas when working and visiting other Trelleborg sites “no matter how excellently your local site is functioning”.
“From a young age I have always been involved in sporting activities,” Neal says. “I trained for the 100m sprint for several years and have had the opportunity to compete in various countries during this time. I am also very passionate about travelling, reading and outdoor activities such as climbing, kayaking, cycling and hiking.”
