Muneeb Sheikh
Muneeb Sheikh’s educational background includes Technology and Business Studies BSc(Hons) at the Strathclyde University, Glasgow. His work background includes Banking Advisor, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Management Trainee at Enterprise Rent-a-car. His current position is Graduate Trainee / Project Coordinator within Trelleborg Sealing Solutions. “I am commercially aware and consider myself to be quite entrepreneurial,” Muneeb says. “I hope to work in a commercial role initially, prove myself in some challenging roles, and quickly advance to positions of greater responsibility.”
Muneeb quotes famous philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, “He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying.”
His time at Trelleborg started at TSS Tewkesbury where he was based for seven months. His project work within the Trainee program was to start the basis for a TSS Global Asset Register which would aid various departments in the company in planning, contingency, maintenance, and identifying excess expenditure. He also worked with engineers and product managers to streamline their pricing calculators. The aim was to make the existing calculators more user-friendly and to increase the accuracy of prices generated. A third focus was various projects aiding purchasing initiatives by carrying out data collection and research. From January 2011 to April 2011, he was based in TSS Condé, France. His main focus there was to consolidate and itemise all assets in Condé in order to organize for an impending site move.
Now Muneeb is based back in Tewkesbury where he is looking after the integration in the TSS group of a newly acquired company. He is really enjoying the new project and is grateful for the opportunity.
“In my time at Trelleborg I believe I have gained a lot of people skills, with people in all positions, from shop floor technicians to board level management,” Muneeb says. “Working globally in a corporate environment you learn to quickly adapt to different types of people in order to achieve a satisfactory outcome. This is a valuable skill and I feel I am learning more and more about this everyday.”
Muneeb’s hobbies include photography, cars, skiing and travelling. He likes testing his limits, but also spending time with friends and family.
