Gian Franco Buscemi

“I hope to continue earning knowledge and responsibilities.”

My name is Gian Franco Buscemi, and I’m 27 year old. After graduating from high school, I attended courses at the Polytechnic of Turin, where I obtained a degree in Aerospace Engineering.

Currently I’m working in Trelleborg Automotive (Fluid Solutions) within the R&D Department at the Technical Center in Ciriè, Italy, since the beginning of 2007.

Initially, I was in the tooling department (also within R&D), where I was in charge of finishing tools for the production line in Ciriè; I was also a Project Leader for small customers.

At the end of 2007, I became Project Manager for our FIAT projects and for a number of Japanese customers. In 2009, I started the Trelleborg trainee program. Between March and July 2009 I have worked in Mannheim (Germany) as a Program Manager for a number of customers.

I have several hobbies in my free time. I like football, cycling, swimming and to play the saxophone. I love to spend time with my friends and, whenever possible, I watch my favorite football club, the Turin FC (being Italian… I love football!). In November I and my girlfriend will have a baby: I hope to spend a lot of time with my son and with my girlfriend. I’m certain it’s the best way I can spend my free time!

Being a young professional, I hope to have a positive and gratifying career. I wish to have a job where I get the opportunity to improve my knowledge day by day. Through this trainee program, I have had the possibility (during my German experience) to get to know a lot of people of different languages and cultures: it has been fantastic, not only professionally but also on a personal level. I hope to continue in the same way, earning knowledge and responsibilities.
