Weight savings, potential cost savings and occupant safety are priorities for all our vehicle systems. Trelleborg Car Body has developed an innovative new plastic pedal box assembly that responds to all these needs. Using a newly developed injection moulding technique and manufactured from glass reinforced polymers the pedal assembly promises weight savings of up to 50% for a complete plastic system. The design is also collapsible to minimize the possibility of leg injuries in a crash situation. What’s more the unique plastic design makes it easier for brake manufacturers to integrate new technologies to the braking system such as brake by wire.
