Unitex Squeegees
Trelleborg – Unitex has been manufacturing high grade polyurethane for over 50 years. We have a reputation for providing industry leading performance and consistency of product, some of the reasons why we have been trading with loyal customers for over 35 years and continue to attract new ones.
Screen Printing Squeegees are generally made of Polyurethane. This is mainly a mixture of Diisocyanate and Polyols.
Ulon HP is our Premium Brand Squeegee and is manufactured from Vulkollan. The NDI name comes from the Naphthalene Diisocyanate used. This type of squeegee is widely acknowledged as being one of the toughest Polymers available. A licence is required to manufacture and we are pleased to have recently celebrated 50 years of continuous production.
ULON HP has exceptional tear and tensile strength coupled with good chemical resistance to solvents and UV ink systems.

This is our MARATHON range. The MDI name comes from the Diphenylmethane Diisocyanate used. The composition of this Polyurethane system has been refined by the Trelleborg technicians to provide an exceptional screen printing squeegee and is resistant to modern inks and chemical used in the printing processes.

Trelleborg - Unitex has never manufactured a cheap squeegee. It is easy to reduce costs by substituting poor grade components in the manufacturing process and reduce testing and quality control procedures but that is not the Trelleborg way. Ultimately these decisions, while potentially saving the customer money in the short term, prove costly in the long term with rejected prints, increased set up times and lack of print constancy to name just a few.
All of our squeegees are manufactured in the UK using a highly skilled work force with years of experience. Ink manufacturers spend many thousands in developing ink systems; printers spend many hours in design and set up so for the print to be compromised through poor squeegee selection is not an option.

We have industry leading tight manufacturing tolerances. Squeegees are graded in
Hardness (Durometer). We manufacture in 5° (Degree) bands, while many of our competitors manufacture in 10° bands. This ensures exactly the right grade of Trelleborg squeegee can be selected.
Our production tolerances are: ULON HP +/- 2.5º Shore A.
Some manufacturers can only manage +/- 5º Shore A, and some vary as much as +/- 7.5º Shore A. This could mean a variation by as much as 15° Shore A for a batch of supposedly identical squeegee. This will cause a large difference in ink deposits and line thickness, while drastically increasing set up time and costs.
Every sheet of Polyurethane we manufacture is tested to ensure our exacting standards are met and the sheet is in technical specification prior to conversion to squeegees. Others may only check one sheet from a whole days production.
