Ulon is a superior grade of Polyurethane elastomer manufactured from Vulkollan®, Ulon can be customised to almost any application area. Ulon’s excellent dynamic and mechanical properties make it suitable for a diverse range of demanding applications and a market leader in terms of performance.
Vulkollan is a superior grade of polyurethane elastomer, which can be customised to almost any application area. Vulkollan's excellent dynamic and mechanical properties make it suitable for a diverse range of demanding applications and a market leader in terms of performance. Vulkollan is frequently used where other elastic materials cannot meet the required performance demands and tight specification.
- Excellent performance in abrasive environments
- Outstanding tear and cut resistance
- High resistance to oil and greases
- Operational temperature range from -35ºC to 80ºC, with limited periods of up to 120ºC
- High impact resistance, low compression with good sound deadening properties
- Ulon can be machined, bonded to metals, elastomers and most plastics
High specification polyurethane sheet is available in 55-97° Shore A Hardness. Maximum sheet size is 610mm x 3350mm, and it is available in thickness' from 12.5mm to 1.5mm as standard and down to 0.4mm as special production. This allows the user to produce their own products or take them in a finished form as gaskets, seals etc.
It has high abrasion resistance properties making it ideal for bonding to components to protect them from erosion.
Sheets up to 150mm wide can be sueded to facilitate bonding
A special grade of Vulkollan can be compression moulded into almost any shape. Ideal for thin sections and diaphragms. Applications requiring high chemical resistance and high flexibility lend themselves to compression moulding. Bottle grippers of any size and shape can be compression moulded - the material is excellent for resisting the tear and cutting problems in these applications.
Vulkollan can be produced as an expanded polyurethane closed cell foam which shows excellent shock absorption and ability to be compressed by up to 70% of its original height. There is no permanent deformation after repeated load cycles.
- Sheeting and Gaskets
- Seals, Washers
- Wear and corrosion resistant linings
- Scraper and wiper blades
- Bump stops
- Pulley wheels
- Erosion strips
- Squeegees
- Flexible moulds
- Couplings
- Hydro cyclones
High specification polyurethane products available in 60 - 97 Shore A hardness.
Items can be cast as individual items or can incorporate metal inserts being bonded at the time of casting.
The tooling costs for these items are usually more cost effective than for moulded items and therefore lower volume runs become more competitive. Whilst retaining the superior properties available from the Vulkollan.
